The death of Mr. Yash Chopra The Emperor of £ove and Romance of Indian Cinemas, was definitely the end of an era of romance in Bollywood but the magic lives on in his movies that will always remain timeless classics....
Here are some of his films...which have been moi very favorites...

Daag: A Poem of Love is a 1973 Bollywood film produced and directed by Yash Chopra in his debut as a producer, which laid the foundation of Yash Raj Films. It is an adaptation of the novel The Mayor of Casterbridge.
The film stars Sharmila Tagore, Rajesh Khanna, Raakhee (who won her first Filmfare award), Madan Puri, Kader Khan, Prem Chopra and A.K. Hangal.
The film was made at the height of the Rajesh Khanna craze and became a "super hit" at the box office.The music by Laxmikant Pyarelal dominated the charts for the year
Deewaar: is a 1975 Indian crime-drama film directed by Yash Chopra, written by Salim-Javed, and starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor. Reflective of "the tumultuous politics of the early 70s" in India, Deewaar tells the story of two impoverished brothers who, after their family is betrayed by the misplaced idealism of their father, struggle to survive on the streets of Mumbai.
Deewaar was a ground-breaking work. It was one of a few films which established Bachchan as the "angry young man" of Bollywood cinema and Parveen Babi as the "new Bollywood woman"whose character Anita is "a liberated working girl, smoking, drinking and sleeping with her lover, defying every Hindi film heroine rule."This movie cemented the success of the writing duo Salim-Javed, who went on to write many more blockbuster films, and made them one of the most memorable writers in Hindi cinema. It is said that after the success of this film, the value of film writers skyrocketed, thanks to Salim-Javed, and they soon were being paid as high as some of the actors at the time
The period from late seventies to 1989 marked a professional setback in Chopra's career; several films he produced or directed in that period failed to leave a mark at the Indian box office, notably Doosra Aadmi (1977), Mashaal (1984), Faasle (1985) and Vijay (1988). In 1989, Chopra directed the commercially and critically successful cult film Chandni, which became instrumental in ending the era of violent films in Bollywood and returning musicals.
Kabhie Kabhi (1976) - The film's complex storyline that spans two generations and includes a number of characters is narrated with utmost simplicity. It is the story of a poet, Amitabh Bachchan and his love interest Rakhi who are forced to part away after Rakhi's arranged marriage. They move on in their lives only to be reunited by fate

[आखिरी लाइन में  "यूँ ही" का अर्थ शुरू की दो लाइनों से अलग है.  पहले तो साहिर इसका इस्तेमाल  अपने ख़ूबसूरत हालात(ख़यालात) की निरंतरता के लिए करते हैं, परन्तु फिर उनकी हकीकत उन पर तारी हो जाती है .  वो ख्यालों की दुनिया से वापस आ जाते है और इन ख्यालों  की निरर्थकता के लिए वो एक बार फिर "यूँ ही" शब्द का इस्तेमाल करते  हैं .   "यूँ ही" शब्द का ये अद्भुत इस्तेमाल  पढने, सुनने वाले पर एक जादू सा असर  छोड़ता है,  जो साहिर जैसों के बस का ही कमाल है]

Silsila (1981) - The film dealt with the topic of extra marital affairs. Amitabh and Rekha played two lovers whose relationship ends abruptly. Although both of them get married and move on, their hearts still yearn for each other and they end up rekindling their romance

Chandini (1989) - The story revolves around a bubbly young woman Chandni who finds love in Rohit, but soon tragedy strikes and they are separated. She decides to start her life afresh and is pursued by Lalit. When Rohit comes back into her life, Lalit realises that she still has feelings for her former lover. It's a film that's high on drama as the plot unfolds
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)
A young man and woman - both of Indian descent but born and raised in Britain - fall in love during a trip to Switzerland. However, the girl's traditional father takes her back to India to fulfill a betrothal promise
Lamhe (1991) - Though an unconventional plot about the romance between a young woman and much older man, it attained a cult status and became a Bollywood classic

Darr (1993) - A psychological thriller about an unrequited love making a crazy lover's obsession seem convincing, beautiful and touching. One of yash Chopra's most defining works till date

Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997) - This film's success altered Indian romance forever by, firstly, making Valentine's Day a much widely celebrated holiday in India; secondly, by making Rahul (played by Shah Rukh Khan) every young girl's dream guy; and thirdly, by convincing everyone to believe that someone somewhere is made for them

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is a 2012 Indian romantic drama film directed by Yash Chopra and written and produced by Aditya Chopra under their production banner, Yash Raj Films. It features Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles; this is the first collaboration between Khan and Kaif, and the second between Khan and Sharma (they previously featured in the 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi). Yash Chopra returned to directing eight years after Veer-Zaara and it was his final film before his death on 21 October 2012. The background score and soundtrack was composed by A.R. Rahman, while the lyrics were written by Gulzar.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan tells the story of Akira Rai (Sharma), a curious Discovery Channel intern, who finds the diary of a bomb-disposal expert, Samar Anand (Khan), which recounts his days as a struggling immigrant in London, and his romance with Meera Thapar (Kaif). The film was released during the six-day Diwali weekend beginning on 13 November 2012. It received positive-to-mixed reviews from critics in India and positive reviews abroad. It opened well at the box office, and Box Office India declared the film a "hit" in India and a "blockbuster" overseas. Jab Tak Hai Jaan emerged as the fifth-highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time overseas, after Dhoom 3 (2013), 3 Idiots (2009), My Name Is Khan (2010) and Chennai Express (2013)

The film was praised for its direction, cinematography and the chemistry between the lead actors; Khan and Sharma were appreciated for their performances, although the predictable plot was criticised. At the end of its theatrical run Jab Tak Hai Jaan received a number of awards, including four Filmfare Awards, which included trophies for Best Supporting Actress (Sharma) and Best Lyrics for Gulzar

Veer Zara (2004) - Only yash Chopra can manage to recreate a profound love story of sacrifice and pathos that is the likes of Romeo and Juliet, Heer Ranjha. A love story of an Indian boy and Pakistani girl, it questions man made boundaries and demarcations
